Bertog ~ In the News

Sue Ryba recently showed viewers how to mix vegetable, fruit and herb plants into permanent perennial beds and seasonal pots during the WGN Midday News.

Integrating food crops into existing beds fills empty spots with new color and texture as they blend nicely with other plants. This practice gives you a great backyard harvest and creates a working ecosystem that supports pollinators.

From the President's Desk

June doesn't arrive quietly. It rolls in on the backs of fireflies, the hum of lawn mowers and that first evening when the air is warm enough to stay outside just a little longer than you planned.

There's something almost ceremonial about June. The solstice marks the year's longest day — a small, quiet gift from the calendar — and with it comes that rare permission to exhale. To step off the treadmill, wander outside and actually be somewhere instead of rushing to it.

The garden is lush, the evenings stretch on forever and nature seems to be in on the secret: this is the good part.

Step outside. Take stock of what you've built. That outdoor space — wherever it is — is more than square footage. It's where conversations linger after dinner, morning coffee tastes better and kids remember staying up too late catching fireflies.

If your space is already humming along, wonderful. If something's missing — a garden that invites butterflies and bees, a pollinator bed that turns heads or a rose corner that makes the whole yard smell like a secret — this is the moment to act. We'd love to help.

Invest now to enjoy every June to come. Let's turn your vision into something you can step out to every morning. We'll design it, install it and make sure it earns its place as a destination where you find peace and relaxation.

The season is generous right now. Don't let it pass as just another month on the calendar. Let's "bring your vision to life."
