Bringing Your Vision to Life

Bring your 2027 outdoor living vision to life with a jump-start this fall! Outdoor kitchen, patio and more, October is the perfect time to begin designing your dream spaces.

Getting your project underway in autumn means your design is finalized and permits are secured so construction can begin when spring arrives. Adding outdoor landscape lighting to your design elevates your home's curb appeal after the sun sets.

Illuminated pathways, patio accent lights and highlighted tree canopies transform dark, chilly evenings into cozy views from inside and outside your home.

Designing with Bertog Landscape Company this fall avoids the spring rush and gives you something to look forward to as winter unfolds. Our team works hand-in-hand with you to craft a custom design that balances spaces with purpose and your lifestyle.

There's no reason to settle for a ho-hum landscape. Transform it! Add luxury appeal with a crafted design from Bertog Landscape. Contact our team today.

Maintenance Service Scheduling Update

Fall is here! Just a reminder — the final week of regularly scheduled weekly maintenance is October 19th. After that, we will transition from weekly maintenance services to an autumn clean-up schedule.

Crews will perform three comprehensive clean-ups between Oct. 26th and Nov. 26th. We will clear fallen leaves, tidy borders and prepare grounds for cold weather.

Property owners can rely on Bertog Landscape to rake and clear landscape beds throughout the fall season.

Contact us if you have questions about our service dates or your service schedule.

Prepare Landscape for Winter

Is your landscape ready for the coming cold-weather months? If not, Bertog Landscape can help!

Proper late-season care protects trees and shrubs so they come back strong and healthy in the spring. Our winterization services include wrapping the trunks of young and tender trees.

We'll also dormant prune small-specimen trees and shrubs, add winter mulch to landscape beds and hill your favorite roses.

After leaf drop, dormant pruning helps us clearly see the tree's branches and structure. Pruning when plants are dormant minimizes stress and limits disease exposure.

Bertog Landscape's winterization services help prevent windburn, damage from heavy snow and ice, and winter desiccation of evergreen trees and shrubs.

Contact us this fall to schedule your winterization and dormant pruning services.

From the President's Desk

Welcome to October

When my wife and I moved into our Glenview neighborhood, it was one of the more populated neighborhoods around, with lots of kids.

We did our share by having four kids in five years. Okay, having twins made that a little easier!

Our Halloweens were spent trick-or-treating with the kids in tow: strollers, wagons, pillowcases for the haul, and of course a cooler in the wagon for the adults to enjoy their own "treat."

Over the years, our kids outgrew the trick-or-treating, but we never outgrew the parade of princesses, superheroes, pirates and ghosts.

The little ones still race from house to house with pillowcases and plastic pumpkins, barely able to contain their excitement as the bags get heavier. What has changed is how the grown-ups celebrate. It used to be the porch light was on, and a bowl of candy waited by the door.

Today, more and more neighbors are pulling up chairs on the front porch and out in the yard, greeting the children by name, visiting with each other, and maybe even warming up by a fire pit on the front porch patio. The front yard has become the neighborhood's gathering place — and your landscape is the stage!

So what does that mean for you? Your front entry is about to get a lot of attention. Make sure walkways are well lit, steps and paths are clear, and shrubs are trimmed back so your little visitors and their parents can make it safely to your "outdoor room."

A few extra seasonal containers or a cozy seating area can turn your porch into the favorite stop on the block.

And once the last trick-or-treater heads home, there's still time to schedule your garden winterization so your landscape rests well this winter and starts next spring healthy and ready to enjoy. Bertog Landscape is here to help bring your vision to life.

Happy Halloween — and enjoy the view from the front porch!
